Steel King Industries is incorporated by Res Gerhard and Fred Anderson. The company starts with nine employees and 9,000 square feet of manufacturing space in Stevens Point, Wis.

The Stevens Point location doubles in size
1976
The Hold ’N Fold® collapsible container debuts
1979
New London, Wis. manufacturing facility opens, and Stevens Point facility expands
1981
New London facility begins producing wood-burning stoves and boilers

Steel Guard® protective railing is introduced
