RamGuard Column Protector
You’ve got all the pallet racking you need for your warehouse in order to meet your demands and want to keep it that way. How do you go about preserving the structural integrity of your pallet racking to ensure you maintain a safe and efficient warehouse? One of the most important aspects of lengthening the life of your pallet racking is that of making sure your pallet rack uprights are protected from the impacts of forklift traffic and collisions with pallets. Suffering repetitive impacts can cause significant damage to the base of pallet rack uprights, compromising structural soundness and sometimes resulting in the need to replace otherwise in-tact uprights. Fortunately, there are numerous products available on the market offering protection against such impacts. In our online catalog, Pallet Rack Now is featuring a new and innovative way to protect your upright frames – the RamGuard Column Protector.
Column Protectors: Innovation meets Durability
RamGuard’s unique Rubber Armored Metal design helps propel it above many of its counterparts when it comes to pallet rack upright protection and shielding your columns from the abuses of forklift traffic and pallet collisions. Below is a list of a few of the advantages offered by RamGuard’s product.
- RamGuard’s rubber-and-metal sleeve design protects against impacts from all angles.
- RamGuard’s dense rubber means shocks are thoroughly absorbed while minimizing damage to forklifts.
- No hardware required – RamGuard Column Protectors don’t need to be bolted to the floor.
- The snap-on design means column protectors can be moved with relative ease.
- Rubber offers superior durability and resilience to repeated impacts.
RamGuard Column Protectors are 12 inches high, and fit rolled or structural channel steel columns 3 inches wide to 3 inches deep.

How to Choose Pallet Rack Beams
1. How many pallets are you putting on a pallet rack shelf level?
For standard pallet racking set-ups, 8-foot beams are great for a two-pallet per level setup. If you are looking to put three pallets per shelf level, 12-foot beams are what you will need. It’s also best to measure the distance between your two frames to get the correct beam length.
2. What weight capacity do you need for your beams (part two)?
This question needs to be asked of your beams too. The longer the beam, the likelihood of sagging increases if you don’t have even weight distribution. Evenly distributed loads are required and if capacities aren’t met, the system can fail. The taller the beam face, the higher the capacity the beam will support. We do stock specific lengths with various beam face sizes to support a variety of capacities. We also dedicated a whole post to this topic as well, which you can read here.
